Playing 9 Masks of Fire well starts with the original game’s 5×3 layout and 20 paylines. Regular combinations run left to right from reel one across adjacent reels, your total stake is split across the active lines, and only the highest combination on a single line is paid. Read that first, before you look at Masks or Free Spins.
When you want to play for real, open the partner app on our site and sign in. Your account sets the controls and settings you see. Bonuses and promotional Free Spins with a deposit are available there too, alongside the game’s own symbol-triggered feature.
Start with your stake and the 20 paylines#

| Step | What to look for | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Total stake | Divided by 20 active paylines |
| 2 | Leftmost reel | Ordinary winning lines begin on reel one |
| 3 | Adjacent matching symbols | The combination must continue across adjoining reels |
| 4 | More than one combination | The highest combination on that line applies |
| 5 | Special symbols | Masks and Free Spin symbols follow their own rules |
The table describes the game rules; each spin outcome is random.
Read Mask wins on its own from line wins#
Mask wins are added to ordinary line wins and Free Spin symbol payouts where the rules give them. The Wild cannot stand in for either the Mask or the Free Spin symbol, so keep those two apart as you read the reels. Features has the full award range and explains why Mask wins sit outside the Free Spins multiplier.
Spot the Free Spins trigger#
If three Free Spin symbols land again on reels two, three and four during the feature, you get a retrigger: it adds the same number of spins first awarded and keeps the multiplier you were given. The multiplier applies to line wins and Free Spin symbol wins in the help, while Mask wins keep their own treatment.
Play on mobile or desktop#
Some settings depend on location. Autoplay, where it is offered, simply repeats spins; stopping it does not change a result the game has already determined. Set your own time and spending boundary before you start.

Keep expectations in proportion#
Rules tell you how a win is evaluated, not which outcome comes next. The 96.24% RTP applies to a named public configuration over a theoretical long run, and a different 92.01% operator variant shows why a figure should never be carried between builds. Set a limit before you open the game and play with money you can spare.
Next step: read Features for the special mechanics, then open App and play with a limit that suits you.
